Cuban woman’s blog describes life in Havana

Yoani Sanchez, in defiance of Cuban government regulations and attempts to censor her site, writes daily postings to her Web log, Generation Y, on the topic of life in Havana. A linguistics graduate, Yoani’s blog covers a wide range of topics, from government policy to cultural notes. Comments from readers all over the world repeatedly praise this young lady’s efforts to exercise freedom of speech in a country where the firm hand of government rules the media. Yoani’s blog, facilitated through Wordpress, features translation from Spanish to English and German.
