Teenager parlays $8 loan into successful website business

Ashley Qualls, at the age of 14, started her own website in 2005 with $8 she borrowed from her mom. Now her site, whateverlife.com, grosses in excess of $1 million annually.
Ashley noticed that her friends in high school liked to personalize their MySpace pages. Her passion for graphic arts led her to create a website featuring her MySpace page background designs, available for free download. When traffic to her site grew to over a million hits daily, advertisers became interested. Now Ashley is so involved in her runaway successful business that she has had to drop out of school and retain the services of an Internet consultant.
